At Hidden Within Counseling & Sex Therapy, I am committed to transparency in the cost of your care. Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining the expected costs of therapy services.
Who Can Receive a Good Faith Estimate?
You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate if you are:
- Uninsured (not enrolled in a health insurance plan), or
- Self-pay (choosing not to use insurance for services).
What is Included in the Good Faith Estimate?
Your estimate will provide:
- A clear breakdown of expected charges for therapy sessions.
- A note that actual costs may vary if additional services are required.
- A statement of your rights under the No Surprises Act to dispute bills that exceed the estimate by $400 or more.
How to Request a Good Faith Estimate
You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling an appointment or at any time by contacting me:

What if My Bill is Higher Than My Estimate?
If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute it. You may:
- Contact me to review and discuss the charges.
- Start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS).
- File a dispute within 120 days (about 4 months) of receiving the bill.
